Sun StorEdge[tm] 6320 System: Repair Procedures

The Sun StorEdge 6320 contains Sun StorEdge 6020 Arrays and a Sun Fire[tm] V100 Service Processor within its cabinet. The repair procedures for the Sun StorEdge 6320 is provided in the following manual:

  • Minimum supported releases for the Sun StorageTek T3+, 6120, 6320 and 6920. (FAB 1000061.1).
  • Early versions of StorADE health monitoring software may misrepresent disk errors from Sun StorEdge 3910/3960 and 6910/6960 Arrays and Sun StorEdge 6320 Systems. (FAB 1001189.1).
  • The Sun StorEdge 6320 Restore CD fails to restore the system from flash disk. (FIN I1158-1).

  • StorEdge 6320 Systems with MIRE 1.2.3.1 Service Processor software will not complete an "unconfigure" operation. (FIN I1146-1).
  • 'logadm' on the SE6320 image is not restarting syslogd resulting in missed log messages and false positive StorADE alarms. (FIN I1143-1).
  • StorEdge 6120 and 6320 Arrays with firmware prior to 3.1.x may experience downtime or data integrity if double disk errors or back-end loop hangs occur. (FIN I1125-1).
  • Sun StorEdge 6120 Arrays and 6320 Systems may reset due to a Controller Board SRAM timing issue (FIN I1043-2).
  • During power on (cold boot), one or more drives may come up in an offline state (FIN I1009-2).

  • Improved firmware for Seagate 10K.6 disk drives will reduce the incidence of unexpected outages due to a spindle motor issue (FIN I1136-1).
  • Seagate Cheetah 7 146GB FC-AL and 73 GB FC-AL disk drives may experience higher than expected failure rates due to spindle motor failure (FCO A0256-1).
