This section provides the most common repair procedures for the A1000.

Improved firmware for Seagate 10K.6 disk drives will reduce the incidence of unexpected outages due to a spindle motor issue (FIN I1136-1).
- Replacement Hitachi disk drives with PQ08 firmware in A1000/A3x00
arrays may disappear after "sysReboot" and "dstDevs" commands are issued
(FIN I1076-1).
- Arrays using Raid Manager 6.xx may hang for more than 3 minutes when
they contain a failed Hitachi drive (FIN I1065-1).
- Improved drive firmware will reduce the incidence of HDI failures
on IBM Discovery disk drives (FIN I0955-1).
- Sun StorEdge A1000/A3x00/A3500FC Arrays with RAID Manager 6 (RM6)
may hang for up to 8 minutes when they contain more than one failed
IBM disk drive (FIN I0845-1).
- Adding new disk drives to StorEdge A1000/A3x00 arrays must be done
properly to avoid loss of LUNs (FIN I0782-1)
- 18.2GB and 36GB IBM disk drives may be susceptible to early life failures
problem (FIN I0724-2).
- Swapping a disk within a clustered environment could cause issue for
a customer's clustered environment in the future if the disk is the
quorum device (FIN I0520-1

Seagate Cheetah 7 FC-AL and SCSI disk drives with serial numbers
below 60000 are experiencing a higher than expected failure rate due to a spindle
motor issue (FCO A0239-1).
- Quantum (model# VK4550J or VK45J05) 4.2GB disk drives may fail to
spin up. (FCO A0113-3).
