Troubleshooting DetailsIt is difficult to determine when the MPC/MPCL may be causing problems. There are a number of symptoms that could be the result of a defective card. Refer to the following steps to troubleshoot this problem. This information is found in the L700/L1400 Service Reference Manual, Chap.3, PN 95846.1. Do you have an AC power problem? Yes: Go to TIP 1000: Power---AC PDU. No: Go to Step 3. 2. Do you have a power problem that may relate to the redundant power option? Yes: Go to "TIP 1010: Power---UPS Power" No: Go to Step 3. 3. Do you have an DC power problem? Yes: Go to TIP 2000: Power---DC Power. No: Go to step 4. 4. Do you have an operator panel problem Yes: Go to TIP 3000: Operator Panel. No: Go to Step 5. 5. Do you have a problem where the client system cannot access the library? Yes: Go to TIP 4000: SCSI Interface. No: Go to Step 7. 6. Do you have a tape drive problem? Yes: Go to TIP 5000: Tape Drives. No: Go to step 7. 7. If you are uncertain, run diagnostic tests on the library. Refer to the "Diagnostic Tests" in Chapter2, "Firmware Operation."
