Goal
To understand the process of migrating LUNs from one storage domain to another.
Proper planning should be considered before executing the Storage Domain QoS migration. The Brick storage class and spindle count may impact the LUNs performance; therefore, the Brick_LUN layout needs to be reviewed prior to executing the LUNs Qos migrations.
The LUNs QoS migrations may impact the overall system performance; therefore, it is recommended to plan and execute the QoS migrations during low utilization hours.
Fix
Below are the steps to follow to migrate LUNs:
- Login to the Pillar Axiom GUI
- Go to the Configure tab > Storage > LUNs. On the right pane select the LUN that needs to be migrated to another storage domain, right click and select "Modify LUN"

- In the Quality of Service tab > select the drop down menu from the Storage Domain section and select the storage domain, for ex: SATA_SD1, then click Ok

Note: Repeat Steps 2 and 3 above to migrate more LUNs to other storage domains.
- Go to the Configure tab > Groups > Storage Domains to confirm the LUNs have been migrated to the selected Storage Domain.

- Once the LUN migration(s) tasks to the other Storage Domain's brick complete, collect System logs so Support can confirm the LUNs have been migrated to the new Storage Domain.
