Netra 210 -  How to Remove and Replace DVD Drive

Fix

Netra 210 product training is desirable but not required, as the part is a CRU

FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR INSTRUCTIONS: 

PROBLEM OVERVIEW: Faulty DVD Drive


WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY?:

A data backup is not a pre-requisite but is a wise precaution.
The customer should conduct an orderly software system shutdown.


WHAT ACTION DOES THE FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR NEED TO TAKE?:

Removirng the DVD Module

1. Power off the server, remove the server from the rack, open the bezel, and remove the top cover and airduct.

2. Locate the DVD module. The DVD module is located at the left of the front panel.

3. Pull and hold the release tab at the right rear of the DVD module.

4. While holding the release tab, pull the DVD module out through the chassis front panel.

Installing the DVD Module

1. Locate where the DVD module installs.

2. Remove the replacement DVD module from its shipping container and antistatic packaging.

3. Orient the DVD module with the door towards you and the label facing up.

4. Slide the DVD module into the DVD assembly until it clicks.

5. Close the bezel.

6. If you are replacing a defective DVD module, follow these steps.

a. Install the air duct and top cover.

b. Install the server into the rack.

7. Power on the server.

OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE WHAT ACTION DOES THE FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR NEED TO TAKE TO
RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE:

Bring system back up to a functioning state.
Restart software applications per applicable administration guides to resume system operation
