FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR INSTRUCTIONS: PROBLEM OVERVIEW: Faulty PCI Card
The following procedures describe how to remove and install individual PCI cards into the Netra 240 server. Removing a PCI Card1.Power off the server. 5. Completely remove the air duct and rear fan assembly. 6. Using a No. 2 Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the PCI lock down screw on the back of the server 7. Remove the PCI lockdown bracket on the inside of the server 8. Determine which of the PCI cards you are removing from the server: - If you are removing one of the two half-length PCI cards installed in the upper positions (PCI1 or PCI2), unseat the PCI card from the connector and lift it out of the server - If you are removing the full-size PCI card at the lowest position (PCI0), follow these instructions: - Pull up on the handle for the PCI card support and slide the support clear of the PCI card - Unseat the PCI card from the connector and lift it out of the server
Installing a PCI Card1. Insert the PCI card in the appropriate slot and press it firmly into its connector. - If you are installing the lower full-length PCI card, pull up on the handle for the PCI card support and slide the PCI card support completely against the PCI card 2. Reattach the PCI lockdown bracket and tighten the PCI lockdown screw 3. Install the air duct and rear fan assembly. 4. Close the rotating service module. 5. Install the server cover. 6. Power on the server. OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE WHAT ACTION DOES THE FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR NEED TO TAKE TO Bring system back up to a functioning state.
