Goal

 SL150 - Initialization and Sizing

Fix

Following is information on initialization of the SL150 library:

The KLC can detect how many Expansion Modules are installed (via USB), but until the initialization of the Robot, the KLC does not know the installation order of its Expansion Modules.

The Robot initialization starts with its hand fully retracted.  The ‘Z’ platform is then moved to the top home position. It then moves to the bottom, interrupting the Module Locate Sensor in each expansion module as it moves down. This signal is sent back to the KLC via USB from the KLE, so by the time the Robot locates the floor of the library the order of each Expansion Modules, has been determined. At the floor of the library the hand is fully checked.

After a successful initialization, the library’s contents are audited.  When the audit completes, and the drives have come to a ‘ready’ status, the library is ready for use.

Initialization time for the SL150 is as follows:

Base Module - 10 minutes

Expansion Module - 8 minutes for each module

Note: Engineering is working on improving init time but no ETA has been provided. (7-Aug-2012)
