Goal

How to Generate and Retrieve a Service Bundle From the StorageTek SL150 Modular Tape Library.

Error log, library dump, trace information.

Fix

In order to open a case for Oracle Support to assist the customer in troubleshooting their SL150 library the customer will need to provide a Service Bundle from the Web GUI of the SL150 library.

To Generate and Retrieve a Service Bundle:

1. Log into the SL150 library Web GUI with an admin user.

2. Click on Service from the main menu on the left of the page.

3. From the Service screen click on the Service drop down.

4. From the Service drop down click on Download Service Logs.

5. Click OK up in the confirmation message at the top of the screen.

A message appears stating that the "Creating Service Logs - Completed" and a Download Service Logs button appears.

Note: The service bundle will only be available to download for 15 minutes from the SL150 library.  If that time has expired another service bundle will need to be generated.

6. Click on the Download Service Logs button.  A Save As window will appear.

Note: Please save the file with the default given name and do not change the name of the service bundle.

7. Click on the Save button on the Save As window.

8. Click on the Close button up at the top of the page after the download of the service logs is complete.

You now have the service bundle from the SL150 library that you can provide to the Oracle support representative or you can simply attach the file to your Oracle Service Request from My Oracle Support.

Note: The service bundle file is encrypted and can only be read by an Oracle service representative.
