FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR INSTRUCTIONS:
PROBLEM OVERVIEW: How to Remove/Replace a Power Supply CRU on the StorageTek SL150 Modular Tape Library
WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY?: The SL150 library should be put into an offline state from the Web GUI
WHAT ACTION DOES THE FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR NEED TO TAKE?:
Note: If the failed power supply is the only power supply in the module then the SL150 library will need to be powered down from the Web GUI in order to replace the power supply if there are redundant power supplies then the SL150 will not need to be powered down to swap out the failed power supply CRU.
To Remove the Power Supply:
1.Disconnect the power cord from the defective power supply.
2.Press the latch to the left (toward the fan) to release the power supply.
3.Grasp the power supply handle, pull the supply out of the library, and set it aside.
To Replace the Power Supply:
1.Remove the power supply from the package.
2.Grasp the power supply handle.
3.Insert the power supply into the module slot:
a.Position the power supply with the power receptacle to the right.
b. Align the rear of the supply with the module slot.
c. Push the supply fully into the module slot.
4.Make sure the power supply is securely latched into the module slot.
5.Connect the power cord to the power supply.
Note: if this was the only power supply you will need to now power on the SL150 library.
6.Verify that the OK indicator illuminates on the power supply.
OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE
WHAT ACTION DOES THE FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE?: The SL150 will need to be brought to an online state from the Web GUI.

REFERENCE INFORMATION: Please reference the attached video for a step by step procedure on how to remove/replace the power supply CRU in the SL150 library.
