FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR INSTRUCTIONS:
   PROBLEM OVERVIEW: How to Remove/Replace the Front Operator Panel CRU on the StorageTek SL150 Modular Tape Library
   WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY?:
   WHAT ACTION DOES THE FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR NEED TO TAKE?:

To Remove the Front Control Panel:

1.Power off the library from the Web GUI.
2.Manually remove both cartridge magazines from the base module by inserting the hex key into the hole that is next to the Op panel on each magazine and pushing in while pulling out on the magazine.
3.Press the tabs on each side of the Op panel and pull the bottom edge of the panel away from the module until the panel is unlatched.
4.Free the tabs on the top edge of the panel from the module.
5.Rotate the top edge of the panel approximately 90 degrees away from the top of the module and hold the panel in this position with one hand.

6.Disconnect the ribbon cable plug from the jack located on the circuit card.
7.Set the failed Op panel CRU on a static free surface.

 

To Replace the Front Control Panel:

1.Remove the replacement front control panel from its packaging.

Caution – ESD damage. Do not touch any exposed electronic components, cables, or contacts.

2.Grasp the panel by the plastic housing and raise it to the base module.
3.Attach the cable to the circuit card jack at the back of the panel. Make sure the connector is flush with the jack.
4.Insert the tabs on the top edge of the panel into the base module slots.
5.Rotate the front control panel down and press the bottom edge into the base module slots until the panel snaps into place.
6.Insert both cartridge magazines into their slots.
7.Power on the SL150 library by pushing the power button on the front of the SL150 library.

OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE
   WHAT ACTION DOES THE FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE?: The SL150 library will need to be brought to an online state from the Web GUI.
