Goal

 This document outlines the prcedures on how to remove a "Stale" MaxRep Host Agent Record.

Fix

In the MaxRep Engine GUI under the "Monitor" --> "Agent Heartbeat", you receive a MaxRep Host Agent has no response for 900 seconds, a cleanup of this Host Agent entry will be required to be removed using the procedures outline below.

 

Confirm with the customer is the Host Agent is not responding due to the service/daemon is not running or if the SAN Host is no longer used/installed before removing the record. Also note, there may be a firewall blocking communication to the SAN Host as well so please perform diligence prior to removing what only appears to be a stale MaxRep SAN Host instance.

Once confirmed that te MaxRep Host Agent is indeed stale, perform the following command from the browser to execute the cleanup script:

 

http://<maxrep_fqdn>/cleanup_database.php?name=<hostname>
