GoalHow to Remove and Replace an x4140 HBA Battery Module FixDISPATCH INSTRUCTIONS 1. Power off the server and unplug (REMOVE) the power cords from power supplies 2. Remove the top cover 3. Locate the SAS HBA PCIe card with the Battery Module to be removed and its corresponding rise 4. Label and make note of the of where PCIe cards and cabling is installed 5. Unplug data cables from the PCIe card to be removed 6. Remove the riser board 7. Carefully remove the PCIe card from the riser board connector 8. Take the Battery out of the packaging and set it on the packing foam. 9. Slightly lift the HBA, and from underneath it, insert three plastic screws from
10. Reinstall the PCIe card into the PCIe riser connector 11. Reinstall the riser board: Slide the riser back until it seats in its slot in the rear panel. Tighten the captive No. 2 Phillips screw securing the riser to the motherboard. 12.Re-connect the cables 13. Replace the main cover 14. Slide the server into the rack. 15.
