DISPATCH INSTRUCTIONS
WHAT SKILLS DOES THE ENGINEER NEED:(IS A SITE ENGINEER AVAILABLE?)
This is a CRU procedure that can be performed by customer.

FIELD ENGINEER INSTRUCTIONS
PROBLEM OVERVIEW: Fan Board failure (fan board is part of the DVD tray assembly)
WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? :
Shut down system and Power down the server.
WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE:
Remove the Fan Board
1. Remove the Top cover
2. Remove the DVD tray.
3. Flip the DVD tray over and remove the five screews that secure the air baffle to the DVD tray, and remove the air baffle.
4. Remove the six screws that secure the fan board to the DVD tray, and gently lift the board from the bracket. Use care when separating the interface connector.
5. Lift the fan board away from the DVD tray and set the fan board aside.
Install the Fan Board
1. Align the fan board to the location where it installs onto the DVD tray. The power and signal connectors fit into the cut-outs of the DVD tray.
2. Secure the fan board to the DVD tray with the six screws. Make sure that the interface connector connects properly
3. Secure the air baffle to the DVD tray with the five screws.
4. Install the DVD tray.
5. Install the front cover.
OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE
WHAT ACTION DOES THE CUSTOMER NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE:
Boot system and monitor boot sequence for errors. Test functionality of system. Restart software applications per applicable administration guides to resume system operation.
