GoalHow to remove and replace a RAID Expansion Module (REM) in a Sun Blade X6270M3 Server Module or Netra X6270M3 Server Module. FixDISPATCH INSTRUCTIONS TASK COMPLEXITY: 0 DELIVERY REQUIREMENT: Caution - After removing the server from the chassis insert a filler panel into an empty slot to reduce the possibility of a system shutdown. Close the REM latch downwards. NOTE: If a REM is being installed where one did not exist before a REM Storage Drive cable kit is required when you want a Sun Blade X6270 M3 server module to communicate with the Sun Blade StorageModule M2 across the Sun Blade 6000 midplane. See cable connection notes below: Insert a ribbon cable end in the front motherboard connector, underneath the REM. Route the ribbon cable to the rear of the motherboard. Carefully place the cable between CPU 0 and the nearest DIMM slot socket. Insert a ribbon cable end in the rear motherboard connector, close to the back panel connector. Locate the REM support bracket on the motherboard, and slide the REM card at an angle into the support bracket, then press the module carefully into the connector.
Remove the existing REM card by pulling the REM card out at an angle away from the support bracket. Close the REM latch downwards. Slide the new REM card at an angle into the support bracket, then press it carefully into the connector. Attachments This solution has no attachment |
