Goal

This document describes the basic firmware upgrade matrix. It is highly recommended to refer to the Release notes of Individual ak firmware releases.
This document is a part of How to Troubleshoot Firmware Upgrade Problems DocID: 1394900.1


Fix

Please take configuration backup.
Perform health check (check for any alarms/alerts )
Note down configuration information like IP, DNS, gateway.

Upgrade should be performed by ILOM/console and not via Telnet/SSH.



Old Firmware is not available for customer to download

** 2010.Q1.3
Upgrade the firmware in the order listed below:

2010.Q3.2.1 (2010.08.17.2.1) or higher

2010.Q3.4.2 (2010.08.17.4.0)

2011.1.3.0 ( ak-2011.04.24.3.0 )


 

1. Before starting activity if your BIOS verison is low ( check BIOS verison ) please contact Oracle Support for the action plan and assistance to upgrade BIOS.

2. Download the latest firmware:

3. Please schedule a downtime to upgrade the firmware and BIOS ( if BIOS upgrade is needed ).


4. First we need to upgrade the Firmware mentioned above..

From BUI go to: Maintenance > System > Press "+" on Available updates.
It will upload the firmware file.
Now take backup of system configuration: Press Backup tab and download the file.
Apply/Update the Latest firmware uploaded above in the "Available updates".


5. Once the firmware upgrade is done, then we need to upgrade BIOS. Please contact Oracle Support for assistance as BIOS upgrade can be done remotely by Oracle Engineers.
