GoalHow to remove a tape from the SL3000's floor.SolutionBefore entering the library, be sure you:Know the location of the emergency door unlocking mechanisms. See SL3000 Door Interlocks on page 574 (referent to user's service guide). Leave the access door open whenever working inside the library. There is a switch on each door frame that disconnects DC power and signal lines to the library's motors when an access door is opened. See 'SL3000 Servo Power Interrupt' on page 574. Know the location of the mechanical door releases. See 'Mechanical Door Releases' on page 574. Know the physical restrictions. See Physical Restrictions on page 575. Below the step to enter the library through the main access door: 1.- Stop ALL the jobs that are running on the library (Backup application). 2.- Vary offline the library in your backup application. 3.- Vary the library offline on SLC, if you are not using ACLS or ELS tape management software, (for details please review the page 577 in the user's service guide). 3.1.- Vary all the drives offline. 3.2- Vary the library Offline. 4.- Insert the key into the door lock and turn the key to unlock the door. 5.- Pull up on the door latch to release it and open the door. 6.- Turn the key in the lock to lock the door open, and then remove the key from the lock and keep it with you. This will prevent the door from being closed while you are in the library. 7.- Enter to the library and remove the tape (Please be aware of the physical restrictions). 8.- Verify that there are no loose items in the library. 9.- If the access doors were locked open, insert the key into the door lock, and turn the key, to unlock the door. 10.- Push the door closed and make sure it latches securely. 11.- Turn the key in the lock, to lock the door closed. 12.- Remove the key from the lock and keep it in a safe place. 13.- Vary the Library Online on SLC, if you are not using ACLS or ELS tape management software 14.- Vary the library on your backup application.
