Goal

Provide a list of  useful ipmitool commands for data collection about the Service Processor (SP) on a Sun Storage 7000 Unified Storage System

Fix

1.- To get help options, interfaces commands
# ipmitool -h
or
# ipmitool <cmd> help

2.- Checking chassis power status.
# ipmitool -I lan -H <ILOM IP address> -U root chassis power status
Password: <insert remote SP password>
Chassis Power is on
3.- Collect the output from the following ipmitool commands to help further troubleshoot.
Run the following against the ILOM:

ipmitool -I lan -H <ILOM IP address> -U <ILOM Username> bmc info
ipmitool -I lan -H <ILOM IP address> -U <ILOM Username> sel elist
ipmitool -I lan -H <ILOM IP address> -U <ILOM Username> fru
ipmitool -I lan -H <ILOM IP address> -U <ILOM Username> sensor
ipmitool -I lan -H <ILOM IP address> -U <ILOM Username> sunoem led get all
ipmitool -I lan -H <ILOM IP address> -U <ILOM Username> sdr elist
ipmitool -I lan -H <ILOM IP address> -U <ILOM Username> sdr elist full
ipmitool -I lan -H <ILOM IP address> -U <ILOM Username> sdr elist all
ipmitool -I lan -H <ILOM IP address> -U <ILOM Username> chassis status

-I interface (BMC default if -I is not used)
-H <ILOM IP address>
-U <ILOM Username> (root)

On the ILOM itself ssh to the ILOM as root and run the following:
show -l all /SYS
show /SP/logs/event/list/
