Familiar with Sun Storage Common Array Manager (CAM) / Service Advisor (SA) and StorageTek 2500 Arrays / Sun Storage 2500-M2 Arrays
- TIME ESTIMATE: 30 minutes
- TASK COMPLEXITY: 0

FIELD ENGINEER INSTRUCTIONS:
- PROBLEM OVERVIEW
A critical fault is received in Sun Storage Common Array Manager (CAM) from the StorageTek 2500 Array / Sun Storage 2500-M2 Array indicating that a Power Supply/Fan has failed.
- WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE
RESOLUTION ACTIVITY?
Powered on. This Action Plan will be carried out concurrently.
- WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE:
The Service Advisor software is needed to carry out the action plan.

In Sun Storage Common Array Manager (CAM) select the array with the problem on the right hand side. Click on Service Advisor tab at the top of the Sun Storage Common Array Manager (CAM) screen.

In the Service Advisor select "Power-Fan Removal/Replacement".
Select the Power Supply that does not say OK.

Follow instructions to replace the Power Supply on the right side of the screen.

OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE
- WHAT ACTION DOES THE CUSTOMER NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO
AN OPERATIONAL STATE:

In step 14 of the Service Advisor procedure above, "Verify the new Power-Fan "State" and "Status" check that the State is Enabled and Status is OK.
