WHAT SKILLS DOES THE ENGINEER NEED:
None. This is a Customer Replaceable Unit with no training requirement.

TIME ESTIMATE: 30 minutes

TASK COMPLEXITY: 0

FIELD ENGINEER INSTRUCTIONS

PROBLEM OVERVIEW:
Expansion tray IOM has been determined to be failed or in need of replacement.

WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE
RESOLUTION ACTIVITY:
The IOM is hot swappable and can be replaced with the array powered on.

WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR NEED TO TAKE:
1. Use the Service Advisor (SA) procedure for I/O Module (IOM) Removal/Replacement to replace the IOM.
2. Remove and replace the IOM per the SA instructions, noting position of the cabling, and location of any SFPs removed from the original IOM.
3. Restore SFPs and drive tray cabling

OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE

WHAT ACTION DOES THE CUSTOMER NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE:
1. Verify that the IOM status is OK
2. Verify that there is no Drive Tray Lost Redundancy, Failed IOM, alarms on the array. This can take up to 5 minutes
3. Verify the IOM firmware is the same for both IOMs in the same tray. If not, have it updated.

PARTS NOTE:
IOM CRUs are not the same between the 25x0 and the 25x0-M2
