How To Replace a PSU in the ZFSSA Unified Storage 7310 Standalone Or Cluster.

Solution

DISPATCH INSTRUCTIONS

- WHAT SKILLS DOES THE ENGINEER NEED:
Training and experience with 7310 Standalone Or Cluster versions NAS hardware and software

- TIME ESTIMATE: 30 minutes

- TASK COMPLEXITY: 0

- PROBLEM OVERVIEW
What: The power supply in the NAS needs replacement
Where: Chassis S/N: , PSU Slot No. of the device to be inserted here by SR owner
Why : The PSU has failed in the NAS and should have an amber light on it.

REPLACEMENT INSTRUCTIONS

WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY?
No downtime needs to be scheduled, and the system can be in full production as they are redundant.

WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE:

1. Locate the PSU by amber LED

The following LEDs are lit when a power supply fault is detected:

* Front and rear Service Required LEDs
* Rear PS Failure LED on the bezel of the server
* Failure LED on the faulty power supply

2. Take ESD Precautions.

3. Check the PSU part numbers for the appropriate system in the System Handbook and re-confirm.

4. Removing the Power Supply as follows or use the "online" Help Guide.
4.1 If present, remove cable management arm, or swivel open cable management arm to view power supplies.
4.2 Disconnect the AC power cord that is connected to power supply you want to replace.
4.3 Remove installed power supply unit by pulling its handle downward until it disengages unit from connector on PDB. Pull out power supply.

5. Installing the Power Supply as follows or use the "online" Help Guide.
5.1 Align power supply with empty bay in chassis.
5.2 With power supply handle in down position, push power supply into power supply bay.
5.3 Connect AC power cord to new power supply. Use the power cord retaining clips.
5.4 If present, swivel cable management arm back into closed position.

6. Verify the replacement by checking for Green LED

WHAT ACTION DOES THE CUSTOMER NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO
AN OPERATIONAL STATE:

Confirm there are no faults reported in the appliance BUI. Mark "Repaired" any prior faults related to the PSU

OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE : Liaise with customer that replacing PSU has resolved the problem.
