Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

How to Reset ELOM/ILOM password if password is lost.  This is applicable to Key Management Appliances running on the X2100 / X2200 / X4170 platforms.

Fix

1)  Connect VGA Monitor to KMA VGA connector on back of KMA, and connect a USB Keyboard to KMA USB port.

2)  Will now have a login into the Console.  Logon as with KMS/OKM User ID with a user who has operator role.

3)  Select option to Reboot KMA.
Once system starts to reboot, and Displays F2 to change BIOS options
Press F2 to enter BIOS options
If it requests a password, press enter
Under the Advanced tab point to Ipmi 2.0 Configuration.
Choose Reset BMC Root Password.
To save and exit changes, click OK.
The BMC(SP) password is reset to the default changeme.

4)  System will not reboot and should be able to login to the ELOM/SP as user root password changeme
