Goal

SL3000/SL8500 - Procedure for Collecting One Button Log Snapshot

Fix

Refer to the attached file for complete instructions:

SL500, SL3000 & SL8500 One Button Log Snapshot in SL Console

Minimum Code levels:
-SL8500 code FRS_7.05 and SLC code FRS_5.53
-SL3000 code FRS_3.50 and SLC code FRS_5.60

-SL500 code FRS_1432 and SLC code FSC_5.60

1. SLC; Select Tools > Diagnostics
2. Click the Library folder on the navigation tree.
    The Library menu option screen appears.
3. Click the TransferFile tab.
    The TransferFile page appears.
4. Select Log Snapshot.
5. At the list, select either All Devices or Selected Device.
6. Click Generate Log Snapshot On Library.
7. Click Yes.
8. After the log snapshot completes save the snapshot within 15 minutes after generating the snapshot.

Note:
If you do not save within this 15-minute window the current log snapshot will be deleted.
Click Transfer Log Snapshot To Your Computer.
The Save dialog box appears.
The Create Log confirmation message appears.

9. Browse to the directory where you want to save the file and enter the file name in the File Name field.
10. If the directory you want does not exist, you can create it by clicking Save.
      The Directory Create list appears. Click OK to dismiss the list.
11. Click Save.
      The data is saved with the specified file name, and the Transferred Successful list appears.
12. Oracle Support
      The log snapshot file can be decrypted and viewed in the tapes support web site at:
      https://tapesupport.us.oracle.com/splat/submit_logs.php after registering at the site.

Customer:
The log snapshot is encrypted and must be sent to Oracle support for analysis.
