DISPATCH INSTRUCTIONS
- WHAT SKILLS DOES THE FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR NEED:
Familiar with the SL500 library.

- TIME ESTIMATE: 30 minutes

- TASK COMPLEXITY: 0

FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR INSTRUCTIONS:
- PROBLEM OVERVIEW:
Power supply is defective and requires replacement.

- WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE
RESOLUTION ACTIVITY?:
All work on the library and drives have stopped.

- WHAT ACTION DOES THE FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR NEED TO TAKE:

Library power supplies are located at the rear of the library and are installed along the left side of the base and drive expansion modules.  A maximum of two power supplies can be installed in each of these modules.

Warning:
Electrical safety: You will be coming into contact with electrically charged equipment.  Physical harm may occur.

Removal of the power supply:
1. Be sure all jobs the robot is performing have ended.

Note:
If the faulty power supply is redundant, the main power switch does not have to be powered off during this procedure.  The Redundant power supply is located at the bottom of each module whether it is the Base or Drive Expansion Module.

At the rear of the library:
2. Toggle the library main power switch off.  (See note above.)

Note:
The power supply procedure is the same whether in a base or expansion module.

3. Unplug the power supply cord.
4. Remove the four T15 screws attaching the power supply bracket to the power supply and chassis frame.
5. Grasp the handle and slide the power supply out of the chassis frame.

Replacement of power supply:
1. Slide the new power supply into the chassis frame.
2. Align and attach the power supply bracket with four T15 screws.
3. Plug the power cord into the power supply.
4. If the main power switch was turned off, toggle the switch on.

Note:
Powering on the library automatically starts the initialization process. This includes an audit of the library that is performed by the robot.

The defective part is considered a consumable.  It does not need to be returned to manufacturer.  Discard the part accordingly.

Should you have any issues or questions, please contact the Oracle Technical Support Center for assistance.
