DISPATCH INSTRUCTIONS

Familiarity with the SL500 library

FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR INSTRUCTIONS:
- PROBLEM OVERVIEW:
Magazine is defective and requires replacement.

- WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE
RESOLUTION ACTIVITY?:
Library can be online.


- WHAT ACTION DOES THE FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR NEED TO TAKE:
Refer to the SL500 User's Guide for Instructions on removal / replacement of the Magazine assembly in the CAP.
 
The Base Module CAP contains a standard four- or five-cell magazine. See FIGURE 10-1. The expansion module CAP has two magazines.
Use this procedure to replace the magazine
 
Note: Before using this procedure, verify that the library CAP Prevent/Allow state is set to Allow. See your SCSI reference manual for syntax.
 
1.Press the CAP Open button on the keypad.
   The robot opens the CAP door and the CAP Open LED is turned on.
2.Grip the handle of the magazine and slide it out of the CAP and onto the door.  Continue to pull the
    magazine until it is free of the CAP.
3Grip the handle of the replacement magazine and slide it back into the CAP.
 
The defective magazine can now be discarded as it is considered a consumable part.

OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE
- WHAT ACTION DOES THE FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE: NA
