Goal

Document the process needed to load firmware in 9x40 and T10000 product lines. 

Solution

1. Open an SR to obtain the appropriate drive microcode file from Oracle.

2. Use VOP or Multi-Drive VOP to install code.

The VOP application can be launched with your PC directly attached to a drive, using a cross-over Ethernet cable and the default static IP; or, with your PC attached to the SDP private network, using a straight Ethernet cable.
          VOP Download and Update of Firmware
  • Connect to the drive. Select File>Connect to Drive and enter the correct IP address.
  • Take the drive offline.Select Drive Operations>Take Drive Offline
  • Update drive firmware. Select Configure>Load firmware from a file.
  • (See attached file for specific instructions)
Once completed, verify firmware level via VOP.
