See How to Prepare for Service. 2 Remove the air duct. See How to Remove the Air Duct. 3 Locate the DIMM socket in which you want to install or replace a memory module. See DIMM Slot Designations. 4 Eject the DIMM from the slot by simultaneously pressing down on the ejector levers at both ends of the DIMM socket. This action releases the DIMM from the slot. 5 To remove the DIMM, lift it up and out of the socket. 6 Install the replacement DIMM ensuring that the DIMM is properly rotated to allow the "key" to sit correctly. 7 Replace the air duct and replace the top cover. 8 Return the server to operation.
