Goal

Supported SAS HBAs for SL24 and SL48 library.

In the SSH, there are HBAs for FC but nothing for SAS under the SL24 and SL48 parts list.

Fix

SL24/SL48 have been fully qualified with all SAS HBAs Oracle supports.  The HBA used depends on the OS and application installed.

Dione:      SAS-1 PCI-X bus, SG-XPCI8SAS-E-Z
Pandora:  SAS-1 PCI-Express bus, SG-XPCIE8SAS-E-Z
Mimas:     SAS-1 PCI-EM bus, SG-XPCIE8SAS-EB-Z
Erie:         SAS-2 PCI-Express bus, SGX-SAS6-EXT-Z
Erie:         SAS-2 PCI-EM bus, SGX-SAS6-EM-Z

The Erie SAS-2 Solaris driver has a couple of issues.

1.  Need Solaris 10 Update 10 for sgen, otherwise the robot will not be discovered (CR 6991467)
2.  Because of the new Solaris mpt_sas driver for the Erie SAS-2 HBA, most backup apps are unable to discover the robot and drives (CR 6989444)

For these reasons we do not support the Erie SAS-2 on Solaris at this time. (Aug, 2011)

Note: 4-Jan-2012
The Erie SAS 2 HBA isn't supported with the LTO5 SAS 2 drives on Solaris.
