FIELD ENGINEER INSTRUCTIONS:
- PROBLEM OVERVIEW: Failed/Faulty PCI Card
- WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE
RESOLUTION ACTIVITY?:
customer should perform an orderly and graceful shutdown of applications and OS
A data backup is not a pre-requisite but is a wise precaution

- WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE:
Follow standard ESD procedures
1. Power off the server and unplug (REMOVE) the power cords from power supplies
2. Remove the top cover
3. Locate the PCIe card to be removed and its corresponding rise
4. Label and make note of the of where PCIe cards and cabling is installed
5. Unplug data cables from the PCIe card to be removed
6. Remove the screw that secures the PCIe riser to the motherboard. Remove the riser
7. Remove the PCIe card from the PCIe riser connector
8. Install the replacement PCIe card into the PCIe riser connector
9. Re-install the PCIe riser and tighten the screw to secure to the motherboard
10.Re-connect the cables
15. Replace the main cover
16. Re-connect the power cords

OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE
- WHAT ACTION DOES THE CUSTOMER NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO
AN OPERATIONAL STATE:
Boot up system and verify full functionality
