CAP PROBLEM OVERVIEW: How to Remove and Replace Single Fans

WHAT SKILLS DOES THE ENGINEER NEED?
ESD Awareness and basic hardware competence

Time Estimate: 90 minutes

WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE
RESOLUTION ACTIVITY?
Power off the system and remove the cover
Identify the fan to be replaced.
Pull the fan upward to remove it.
Unplug the fans power connector from the connector on the fan harness.

To Install a Fan Module
Position the fan so that the arrow on top of the fan casing is facing the middle chassis divider.
Place the fan in the chassis so that it fits over the small guideposts.
Gently push the fan down to secure it to the chassis.
Connect the fan connector to the appropriate connector on the fan harness.
Check the routing of all cables for obstructions, and then reinstall the cover.

Power on the system.
