Goal

To map the following IBM AIX hdiskpower ID and logical device ID to HDS CU:LDEV

Pseudo name=hdiskpower4
Logical device ID=HITACHI R500470D4304

Solution

Pseudo name=hdiskpower4
where:
4 = HDS LDEV ID 4

Logical device ID=HITACHI R500470D4304
where:
R500 = HDS Array Type:
              R600 =  USPV/NSCP or ST9990V/9985V
              R500 =  USP/NSC or ST9990/9985
              R400 =  9980/9970
470D = The array Serial Number convert to decimal to confirm
4304 = CU:LDEV

To confirm these values, run the following on the AIX server:

# lscfg -vl hdiskpower4
hdiskpower4 U9117.MMB.10220FP-V6-C32-T1-L5 PowerPath Device

Manufacturer................HITACHI
Machine Type and Model......OPEN-V*2

Device Specific.(Z0)........00000332CF000002
Device Specific.(Z1)........4304 3C ....    <=======CU:LDEV 43:04 on HDS Port CL3-C
Device Specific.(Z2).........
Device Specific.(Z3).........
Device Specific.(Z4)..........

You might also get a different output format: (output from a different AIX server)

#lscfg -vl hdisk1

hdisk1 20-58-01 Other FC SCSI Disk Drive
Manufacturer................HITACHI
Machine Type and Model......OPEN-3 Type of device emulation
