Goal

How to clear log and database.

Solution

There is a clear log and database command in CLI.  It is not targeted specifically toward the media database but it does clear the cartridge database and device logs.

For the clear database to run successfully the library needs to be at minimum level of 6.x.

SL8500> help clear
clear log list
Prints out the list of valid card names for log clear command.

clear log robot <device address>
Clears the STK logs for a particular robot.
NOTE: This particular command does not require a reboot.

clear log card <card name>

Clears the STK logs for the target card name.
A list of valid card names can be retrieved using clear log list.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
Once a card's STK logs have been cleared, the target card must be rebooted.

clear database
Clears the cartridge database and REBOOTs the library controller.
WARNING: This command will delete the database and reboot the controller.
