Goal

How to Replace the Fabric Expansion Module for the Sun Blade X6450.

WHAT SKILLS DOES THE ENGINEER NEED:(IS A SITE ENGINEER AVAILABLE?)
Field engineer experience.

DELIVERY REQUIREMENT:
As required by the customer.

TIME ESTIMATE: 60 minutes

FIELD ENGINEER INSTRUCTIONS

WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? :Power off the server and remove the server module from the chassis.

WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE:

To remove
1. Remove the main cover

2. Remove the protective cap from the fabric expansion module connector (located on the left side of the center support bracket)

3. Position the fabric expansion module (connector side down) over the fabric expansion module connector on the motherboard, and insert the (opposite) edge of the fabric expansion module into the slots on the center support bracket.

To install

1. Repeat step 1,2 and 3, describe above.

2. Gently press the connector on the underside of the fabric expansion module onto the connector on the motherboard, until the edge of the board is secured by the ejector clip on the left-side support bracket.

OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE

WHAT ACTION DOES THE CUSTOMER NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE:
Start up the system.
