GoalFix a Faulty SL8500 Ethernet Switch.SolutionPROBLEM OVERVIEW:Ethernet switch provides private network connection in the SL8500. It is handling all internal library networking for the private system controller ports. If Ethernet switch fails, it may cause some component problems in: - CAP - Elevators and turntable assembly - Drive TTI - PTP - Operator console CONFIRM THE FAULT BY CHECKING: Check internal network cables. Check status of Ethernet switch: - Power supply - the lights Check status of SL8500 using SLConsole Request customer to place the library offline with either ACSLS or HSC. WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE: - Review error logs to confirm internal networking problem - Check internal network cables - Check Ethernet switch status - Power cycle Ethernet switch - If not fixed, replace FRU (Ethernet switch) - Record specific error code and messages associated with failure in case notes - Record all relevant visual observations of error in case notes - Record final fix in case notes CONFIRM THE FIX BY: Check status of SL8500 using SL Console PARTS NOTE: https://support.us.oracle.com/handbook_internal/Systems/SL8500/SL8500_components.html#Miscellaneous ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: Attachments This solution has no attachment |
