GoalSolutionDISPATCH INSTRUCTIONS:WHAT SKILLS DOES THE ENGINEER NEED: Nothing beyond basic V210/V240 server training TIME ESTIMATE: 30 minutes TASK COMPLEXITY: 0 FIELD ENGINEER INSTRUCTIONS: PROBLEM OVERVIEW: Configuration Card Failed WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? : A data backup is not a pre-requisite but is a wise precaution. The customer should conduct an orderly software system shutdown. WHAT ACTION NEEDS TO BE TAKEN: Ensure that the system configuration card is not removed before system is brought down. Follow standard ESD procedures to avoid Electrostatic Discharge Replace the part following the steps below, refererence the service manual below: Remove the defective part: 1.Power off the server. 2.Ensure that the server is properly grounded. 3.Remove the front section of the cover assembly. 4.Remove the system configuration card. Install the new part: 1.Install the system configuration card. 2. Replace the front cover assembly section 3. Power on the server. OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE: WHAT ACTION DOES THE CUSTOMER NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE: Restart software applications per applicable administration guides to resume system operation.
