Applies to:

Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

To provide VLE customers a procedure to create, from the VTCS mainframe host, a support file bundle to be used by VLE support for remote troubleshooting.

Fix

Host (VTCS) issued manual ASR command:

The following is an example of how a manual ASR can be triggered by issuing a command from the mainframe host.

Command Syntax: F smcproc,ROUTE stormngr SEND_ASR
(where 'stormgr' = VLE server name)

Two examples of issuing the command followed by the output of the second example:

Example 1 (for ELS 7.0):
F ELS70SMC,ROUTE FMA1 SEND_ASR

Example 2 (for VTCS 6.x):
F SMCX70,ROUTE FMA1 SEND_ASR

Sample host console output (from issuing the command in example 2):
15.21.57 STC03824 SMC0000 (V059835) ROUTE FMA1 SEND_ASR
15.21.57 STC03824 SMC0173 Response from TAPEPLEX FMA1: 164
164 SEND_ASR response: Completed.
164 SMC0173 Response RC=0

=====================================

Once the manual ASR is submitted, an "alert" will be sent via ASR process to Oracle where the support file bundle can be obtained and reviewed by Oracle VLE support.
