Applies to:Sun StorageTek VTL Storage Appliance - Version: 4.0 - Build 1221Sun StorageTek VTL Plus Storage Appliance - Version: 1.0 - Build 1323 to 2.0 - Build 1656 [Release: 1.0 to 2.0] All Platforms . ***Checked for relevance on 14-07-2011*** (dd-mm-yyyy) GoalHow to re-enable or enable virtual tapes for Automated Tape Caching (ATC), if the Virtual Library has had the "Enable automated tape caching" box unchecked at some point.SolutionSteps to FollowTo enable (or re-enable) Automated Tape Caching (ATC), the "Enable Automated Tape Caching" check box must be checked. Then the virtual tapes must be created under that Virtual Library. To enable Automated Tape Caching policy: 1. Right-click on a Virtual Tape Library and click "Enable Automated Tape". 2. Click the "Enable Automated Tape Caching" check box. 3. Click OK. 4. Create (or if re-enabling, delete all virtual tapes then re-create) for that Virtual Tape Library. NOTE: Disabling ATC can be done "on the fly" by: 1. Right-click on a virtual tape library and click Automated Tape Caching. 2. Clear the Enable Automated Tape Caching Policy check box. All virtual tapes under that Virtual Library will now be changed to standard virtual tapes, and will not be automatically migrated. 3. Click OK. Attachments This solution has no attachment |
