Information needed to diagnose problem:

Acquiring information of problem

 

-Listen to the initial concern and capture the information from the customer.

 

Gather the following information and document into the case.

 

-What is the Product being report? IE: Type of library, drive, etc.

-What is the Serial number of the reported product?

-Is this a local or remote site?

-Can the library be accessed locally?

-Can the drive be accessed locally?

-Is this a solid or intermittent problem?

-When did the problem start?

-Has anything changed within the OS, Application or physical configuration?

-If so, what?

-What has been done to resolve the problem?

-What is the Application being used? IE: Legato, Veritas, TSM, etc.

-What is the Operating System? IE: HP, Solaris[TM], AIX, MS, etc.
