Goal

Where is the configuration file stored?

NOTE: This file is only to be updated by Oracle VTL support person, so location below is set for internal view only.

Solution

The configuration file for VTL2, VTL Value and VTL+ 1.0 is stored in directory:
  • /usr/local/vtl/etc/<servername>/ipstor.conf

--where "<servername>" is the name of the VTL appliance

The configuration file for VTL+ 2.0 is separated into two files and stored in two directories:
  • VTL IP, disk partitions (LUNS) and SAN Client configuration data is in:

    /usr/local/vtl/etc/<servername>/ipstor.conf

--where "<servername>" is the name of the VTL appliance

  • Virtual Tape configuration data is in (notice these are "dot" files):

    /tmp/.tape_lite_summary
    /tmp/.tape_lite_summary2
