Goal

How to filter console GUI event log messages.

Solution


To filter VTL Console GUI event log messages, do the following:
1. In the VTL Console, right-click on the VTL server name
2. Select Event Log-->Filter
a. For the Event Type, select Warning,
b. For the String Search, select Search Option Does not contain the string
c. For the actual filter String, enter portion or entire error message. (For example, "Physical Tape not available to start tape caching job".
d. For the Date Range, leave it set to From First Event To Last Event.
e. Click Apply, and the Warning message will not be seen in the Event log anymore.
