Verify that your system is actually hanging: A hanging system will not respond on any command. It is no longer usable. Refer to: <Document: 1012991.1> "How to check if your x86 platform "system hang" actually is a system hang".
How to reset your server in the event of a hang: If you have qualified that the system is in a "hung situation" you have to reboot the system with a force option or by switching off the power. The shutdown will not be graceful. Refer to: <Document: 1008398.1> "How to reset a x86 Platform" for more information.
Collecting data for further analysis of the hang: A core dump is needed for further analyze of the hang situation. Refer to: <Document: 1003085.1> "Solaris Operating System: Forcing a kernel core dump on an x86 system". You should setup the system with kadb and open service request for next time the issue occurs. Oracle support serviced need at least a valid core dump and explorer of the system to analyze the "hung situation". Refer to: <Document: 1312847.1> "Oracle Explorer and Product Information Center. At this point, if you have validated that each troubleshooting step above is true for your environment, and the issue still exists, further troubleshooting is required.
