Goal

After the licenses are ordered, delivered and entered into the Systems Controller configuration how do I bring the newly licensed CPU's into the domain configuration?

Solution

POST or HPOST evaluates the state of the licenses on the particular platform when it runs.
stage_cpu_lpost(): No NMB Boards in config. Skipping Stage nmb_cpu_lpost.

Acquiring licenses for all good processors...
Proc SB17/P3 deconfigured: no license available.
Proc SB17/P1 deconfigured: no license available.

Therefore in order to activate COD licenses into a domain POST needs to run. So we have the following options:

  1. Keyswitch the domain domain off (or standby) and on to make post evaluate the license situation again
  2. DR a Uniboard (SB) out the domain and back in

From the Systems controller:

SC> addcodlicense verylonglicensestringhere
SC> deleteboard SB1
SC> addboard SB1

From the domain:

SC> addcodlicense verylonglicensestringhere
DOMAIN> cfgadm -c disconnect SB1
DOAMIN> cfgadm -c configure SB1

On single board domains only option 1 can be used.
