Console logs need to be obtained for certain errors and are required to diagnose Fatal Reset/Fatal Error events.

How to identify the Physical DIMM size

Physical DIMM Size is equal to the "MB" entry in prtdiag divided by 8.

Basic Troubleshooting for Boards

  • If the yellow LED (middle LED) is continuously lit (not flashing) the board may require service. Further analysis is needed to determine cause of failure.
  • If the left and right green LEDs are off, the board is ready for removal.
  • If no LEDs are flashing, the system is hung.
  • If no LEDs are lit, there is no electrical power to the board.
