Purpose

OBDiag is a fully interactive diagnostic tool launched at the OBP prompt which validates the functionality of the I/O subsystems for both on-board and plug-in pci cards. OBDiag is a diagnostic test suite which provides a user-friendly interface when running tests to verify the following hardware areas:

  • On-board I/O channels, such as serial ports, parallel ports, audio and graphics ports.
  • On-board devices such as SCSI, ethernet and floppy.
  • Non-core motherboard devices, such as FLASH, NVRAM, and environmental controls.
  • Plug-in cards with native FCode drivers.

Scope
