Sun Storage 7000 Unified Storage System: Configuring the ZFS Storage Appliance to work in Oracle Solaris Cluster

As of Oracle Solaris Cluster 3.3 update 5/11 the Oracle ZFS Storage Appliance is fully supported to provide shares over any of it's supported protocols to Highly Available applications running in an Oracle Solaris Cluster environment.  The use of the ZFS Storage Appliance as a quorum device is also fully supported.

Please see ORACLE SOLARIS CLUSTER | WHAT'S NEW for full details of the announcement.

Requirements
  • Oracle Solaris Cluster must be at version 3.3 update 5/11.
  • The ZFS Storage Appliance must be at version 2010.08.17.3.1 (2010.Q3.3.1) or later to support the use of the Oracle Solaris Cluster plugin workflows.
See <CR 7018284> Sun ZFS Storage Appliance NFS Plug In for Oracle Solaris Cluster version 1.0 workflow support.

Configuration

Please see Configuring Oracle Solaris Cluster with a Sun ZFS Storage Appliance NAS for a full example of how to configure both the ZFS Storage Appliance and Oracle Solaris Cluster to work together.
