Description

The system has diagnosed a problem in one or more PCI controller drivers, based on the error telemetry detected in the PCI subsystem.

Automated Response

This defect requires user and/or service interaction and currently does not have an automated response agent.

Impact

Possible loss of services provided by the device instances associated with this problem and/or system downtime.

Suggested Action for System Administrator

Ensure latest drivers and patches are installed. Run fmdump -v -u to find the suspect driver(s).

Details

The Message ID:  PCI-8000-0Cindicates a problem with a PCI driver. This message occurs primarily when a PCI service was used that had not been enabled. This could be the result of a nexus,driver or application bug.

Use the fmdump -v -u EVENT_ID command to determine the possible faulty driver(s) as shown in the example below.

The defective software module is indicated in the rsrc line as the mod-name. Make note of the module(s) indicated (pcisch above>) and go to My Oracle Support to determine is there are any recent patches for the module(s). Apply any necessary patches. If the problem persists or if you have any trouble obtaining patches contact Oracle Support for assistance.

Note: You may also be requested to provide a copy of the files in the /var/fm/fmd directory and also a copy of the output from the fmadm config command.
