Oracle Key Manager - Version 2.0.0 to 2.5 [Release 2.0]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Description

The problem which has been observed is that the crypto kits are now shipped with an HP Switch, the switch is DC power but the AC power cord that come standard with the switch includes a DC to AC converter..  The issue is that the 110 AC power cable shipped with the switch does not have the correct C14 type connector required for the Rack Mount PDU connection.

The following Crypto Kits may be impacted:

003-4915-01   315494001,CYPTO KIT, 2.X, 9310
003-4916-01  315494101,CRYPTO KIT, 2.X, 9741E
003-4917-01  313376101,CRYPTO KIT,2.X,SL500,BASE UNIT
003-4919-01  315494301,CRYPTO KIT, 2.X, SL8500
003-4920-01   315494201,CRYPTO KIT, 2.X, L700/L1400

003-5064-01  260800492,ETHERNET SWITCH,10/100,TBD,LIB,SUB

Occurrence

This issue may be seen upon new installs of the Crypto Kits, as well as any replacements of the previous 3com switches with the newly released HP switch.

Symptoms

The standard 110 AC power cable shipped with the HP switch will not include the proper C14 connector required for the rack mount PDU.

Workaround

The customer site can either plug the HP switch into a standard 110 AC outlet, or if they would prefer to connect to the C14 connector within the rack mount PDU they will need to procure and use an adapter cord similar to the following:

In the long term, Oracle is committed to permanently resolve this issue by including a C14 style adapter cord within the Crypto Kits.
