In this Document
Applies to:StorageTek SL150 Modular Tape Library - Version All Versions and laterHP LTO5 Tape Drive - Version Not Applicable and later Information in this document applies to any platform. SymptomsHP LTO5 SAS Drive ports shown on the Web GUI/OP Panel do not match the physical labels on the back of the drive tray. Drive ports do not match physical labels vs Web GUI/Op Panel display on HP LTO5 SAS drives. CauseThe internal cables for Ports 1 and 2 in the back of the drive/tray assembly are reversed on the HP LTO-5 SAS drives. Manufacturing assembly error. SolutionCurrently, when plugged into port-1 on the back of the drive, the Web GUI/Op Panel will show port-2 with the drive information. Image 1: Shows the external labeling on the back of the drive. Image 2: Shows the SL150 Op Panel Display. Image 3: Shows the output of the Web GUI interface. At this time, the engineering recommendation is to "Use as is" for HP LTO-5 SAS drives. This is only an issue on the drives built early in the SL150 release (roughly up to November 2012). Manufacturing will now be correcting the cable orientation in the HP LTO-5 SAS tape drive to reflect the external labeling. This involves changing the 2 cables (spider cable and SAS cable). The HP LTO-6 drieve will be released with the correct cabling orientation.
