Symptoms

1. Receiving following errors in /var/adm/messages
    Jul 11 18:53:42 bacchus-1 tldcd[1566]: [ID 745561 daemon.error] TLD(10) key = 0xb, asc = 0x4e, ascq = 0x0, OVERLAPPED COMMANDS ATTEMPTED

    Jul 11 18:53:42 bacchus-1 tldcd[1566]: [ID 606676 daemon.error] TLD(10) inquiry error: cannot determine robot type

2. Media Load or eject through CAP fails with NBU being unresponsive.

Cause

Possible Causes:
Any other application trying to access or communicate with the library.
Ex: ACSLS, HSC etc. Or any Monitoring software

Error 'Overlapped Commands Attempted' which resulted in inquiry error: cannot determine robot type at the same time OS can still see the Med-Changer as connected configure unknown, indicates that there is something else that is trying to access or communicate with the Tape library.
Confirmed with the customer that they are using 'Oracle Enterprise Manager Ops Center' which is a Storage management application.

Solution

1. Ensure that cfgadm -alv or OS still sees the medium changer as connected configured unknown at the time NBU shows error Jul 11 18:53:42 bacchus-1 tldcd[1566]: [ID 606676 daemon.error] TLD(10) inquiry error: cannot determine  robot type.
2. Disable any monitoring system such as 'Oracle Enterprise Manager Ops Center' or any monitoring application that may be accessing or communicating with the library.
3. If using ACSLS, ensure that the ACSLS can see the robot/ Medium Changer.
