Sun Ray 2FS , Firmware 11.0.0.0.49, upgrade, garbage pixels, display In this Document
Created from <SR 3-5761618931> Applies to:Sun Ray Hardware - Version Sun Ray 2 to Sun Ray 2FS [Release 1.0]Sun Ray Software - Version SRS 5.2 to SRS 5.3.1 [Release 5.0] Information in this document applies to any platform. The firmware can be successfully upgraded eventually and there is no issue even post the upgrading. Everything function well. SymptomsThe junk pixels displayed on Sun Ray 2FS screen during firmware upgrading to Sun Ray Operating System (SROS) release 11.0.0.0.49 or 11.0.1.0.05 from version 4.2=140993-05_2010.08.25.23.16. This does not happen on Sun Ray 3 series clients. The start point of firmware version could be various,it happens on all below release. 4.2_140993-05_2010.08.25.23.16
CauseThis symptom is due to insufficient memory capacity of Sun Ray 2FS system. Graphic memory is borrowed to buffer the firmware package during the upgrading process thus the display is corrupted. SolutionThe symptom itself is harmless and can be ignored basically. And this will be likely addressed in future SROS release document.
