Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

 T1000B drive fails to come up afer it is power cycled with one of the following symptoms:

1) Boot Monitor

2) 6046 SNO

3) The drive does not IPL. (possibly with a solid red status LED)

FSC6046

Error 6046

Will not initialize

 

The drive will fail no matter what library slot location it is installed in.

Changes

 The drive was power cycled.

Cause

 A chip has probably failed within the drive preventing it from running the bring up tests so that it will complete an IPL.

Solution

 The drive must be replaced and sent back through the normal returns process.
